Why I Donā€™t Hate Jaeeon (20 August 21)

Image
Why I don't hate Park Jaeeon šŸ¦‹ Misunderstood. The scene with his mom revealed the reason for hiš˜“ fear of rejection and abandonment, twisted views on commitment and love. It explained why he preferred casual relationships, drawing the lines when confronted by uncomfortable truths. Generosity and love. For someone who doesnā€™t express himself well with words (unless he was flirting), acts of generosity (things and time) was a special language. He showed NB this countless times (and those around him). "Because I'm sick of myself". NB saw JEā€™s vulnerability through some ā€œunfortunate eventsā€ that led her to end things with him. When he had nobody to rely on, he kept NB close but not close enough to hurt her. He needed her. Purple. JE wore it a lot in the drama and webtoon. It's a clever way to explain his character - generous, creative, mysterious and independent. I have had faith since the beginning. Another love confession. After all NBā€™s constant rejection, he trie...

Hands Poster (01 January 22)

Call me weird but I do have some kind of affinity for hands. Given this beautiful hand interaction, I literally screamed. The whole story of Nevertheless is summed up in this poster. Jaeeonā€™s touch language has met Nabiā€™s doubtful soul yet they managed to comprehend. JEā€™s bracelet symbolized his masculinity. NBā€™s cute butterfly tattoo was actually on NB's wrist, but they put it on NBā€™s backhand on purpose, so that it could be included in the poster. They included NB and JEā€™s signatures in this Nevertheless poster which is clever! NB and JEā€™s hand interactions in the drama are summed up in the photo below. #Nevertheless is an expert in details, and of course they must have paid extra attention when shooting these hand interactions. They are all sexy af! If you see it closer, the tattoo and bracelet part are blurred. I bet this is on purpose too. I personally think it symbolized how JE and NB 'smoothenedā€™ their characters but they didnā€™t abandon their true selves. Excellent metap...

You Were Meant to Hate Jaeeon (24 August 21)

YOU WERE MEANT TO HATE PARK JAE EON: A thread  Recalling back to his first appearance, the very first thing that was focused was what represents his exterior demeanour the best: his butterfly tattoo. As mentioned in my previous thread of symbolisms, his tattoo represents the Jaeeon that everyone, including the viewers, see. From the very beginning, we all know very little of this character in particular. Unlike Nabi, we were never given the context of jae eonā€™s background. Hence, it seemed ā€œeasierā€ for everyone to quickly reprimand him for his actions because no one knew how he became like that. The lack of information made everyone, including the characters, jump into conclusions really easily. feeding more into these misconceptions, Jae eon doesnā€™t make an effort to clear it up; instead he smiles (as a way to cover up his emotions). His smile is what makes viewers hate him even more. it shows that he doesnā€™t care, that he never takes things seriously, brushing things off with a s...
