Ice-Cream as Symbolism (24 January 22)
At the dinner in Ep 1, Nabi stepped out of the place to catch some air because she was feeling jealous (she said she felt annoyed, but we know what it truly is). JE sensed that something was wrong, followed her, and asked if she wanted to grab ice cream with him.
When they came back with the ice cream, a friend said "Love always begins with ice cream, you know."
And while this anecdote seemed negligible, the writers of this series actually seeded this at the very beginning to allude to it in the last episode.
In Ep 1 they were shown walking through a tunnel with their ice cream in hand with a friendly distance between them, the stifling air carrying a sense of tension and hesitation lingering over them amplified by the cramped space.
In Ep 10, they buy ice cream and walk together again, but this time hand in hand, on the streets, with an air of freedom and lightness, of assurance and commitment.
It may have been the end of our journey with them, but it was just the beginning of their love story.
